Bruno accuse Ronaldo of being the cause of Portugal’s exit. Morocco make history as the first African nation to reach the WC semi-finals after kicking out Portugal from the world cup tournament today.

Bruno Fernandes has spoken on the claim that Cristiano Ronaldo did not do much to help Portugal beat Morocco in the quarterfinal of the World Cup on Saturday.

The midfielder said that the drama that surrounded his former Manchester United teammate at the tournament did not impact Portugal’s campaign.

Youssef En-Nesyri’s first-half header was all the Africans needed to seal a historic win over Portugal and move to the semi-finals of the competition.

The 37-year-old Ronaldo came on as a second-half substitute but failed to score with his only real chance of note in the match.

According to the Man United and Portugal midfielder, “Maybe because of who Ronaldo is, people click more often on news about him to see what it’s about,” Fernandes told RTP3 when asked if Ronaldo was the cause of their premature exit.

“But it was not for any of these reasons that the team did not go further in the World Cup. We simply could not beat Morocco.” Bruno Fernandez lamented.
