FULL TEXT: Finance Minister's responses to urgent questions by MPs
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has responded to some sixteen questions posed by Members of Parliament touching largely on issues to do with the economy and management of public finances.
Ofori-Atta was summoned before the House to answer questions ranging from inflation, depreciation of the cedi, funding for major infrastructure projects and on COVID-19 expenditure.
Prior to his June 22nd appearance, the minister had failed to honour invitations drawing the ire of the Speaker of Parliament who suspended all business relating to the Ministry pending his appearance.
The Majority explained that the Minister had formally requested more time even though the Minority lambasted the absence and accused the Minister of evading accountability.
He answered the COVID-19 expenditure questions separately in a detailed report that is also produced below his general responses.
